Back in 1986 and 2 days before Christmas, newly fallen snow covered the heavily forested area near Nicholson Creek of northeastern Minnesota. Approaching the location by snowmobile, we came across 3 whitetail deer alongside the creek. The buck saw us first and was off to the races with a doe not far behind. The second doe was much more curious, not bolting until the very last.
