October Run (12x9in.) $45.00, original available (23x17 in.) $2000.00
Unusually heavy fall rains have swollen the rivers that connect the Upper and Lower Great Lakes, allowing the 1000' self unloading bulk carrier M/V Oglebay Norton to carry an unusually heavy cargo of taconite on this October 17, 1997 day. Passing in front of the Duluth, MN hillside, which is in it's full autumn splendor, the Oglebay Norton Marine Co. vessel is outbound for Lorain, OH after loading at the Missabe Docks (now Canadian National) in west Duluth. As a bicyclist stops to view the vessel's passing from the South Pier of the ship canal, up on the horizon is the famous Duluth landmark of Enger Tower, dedicated in the honor of the Crown Prince of Norway.
